My Favorite Things

Part I

High School

Rather than starting with the cliché about loving photography from a young age, I'll fast forward to where I really got a start: South Burlington High School. Working alongside my mentor, Paul, and a very supportive community, I established a name for myself in the high school sports world. I was satisfied with just sports until friends started asking me to do their senior portraits. What started as a way to help my friends out quickly turned into a passion and is where I started  turning my focus to.

Part II

CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE

As I began to branch out with my business, I soon realized that this passion of mine was something I wanted to pursue for the indefinite future. It wasn't the photography or the money that drew me in, but all of the amazing people and stories I had the privilege of experiencing along the way. If I was going to make this business my career, I wanted to truly commit. I enrolled in Champlain College as a Business Administration and Accounting Double Major, with a minor in Digital Marketing. Being in college threw numerous obstacles my way, but it helped me clear the path to a vision that became far more tangible as I furthered my education.

Part III

IRELAND

In the spring 2018 semester during my time at Champlain College, I decided to abandon home and head to the (second) most beautiful place in the world. Studies were light, but travel was abundant and I learned more about myself in those four months than I ever have before. I reconnected with a side of me that I hadn't experienced in a very long time. A new appreciation of life and the world around me inspired me to truly think about what my next steps would be with HP Photo. I wanted my business to be about the experience, rather than the images.

Part IV

FULL STEAM AHEAD

2018 was basically a year put on pause for my business. After being out of the country through May, and a full time swim coaching job that kept me occupied through the summer, there were a lot of holes put into my business. But of course, sometimes it takes a step backward to redirect and start running full speed ahead. I'm excited for what the future holds: all the new people I get to meet, all the new stories I get to hear and experience, all the new technology that is being released...it really is an amazing time to be alive!

I swam competitively for a decade, and although I wasn't the best swimmer ever, my passion for the sport and working with kids led me to the coaching world! I've been with the EDGE Swim Club as an Assistant Coach since 2015 and have loved every minute of it.

I think Ultimate Frisbee is one of the most underrated sports. It is super fun, and man is it a workout for your legs. Prepare to run until you can't anymore, and then a little further after that. It's a tight-knit community!

Hiking is by far one of my favorite things to do. You get a little exercise, a chance to be outside, and of course, fantastic views! I've hiked here in Vermont as well as a handful of other countries.

CAFÉS

Treating myself to something mocha-flavored and a bakery item is the perfect way to make my day better. I don't really need caffeine to be energetic, but hey, it doesn't hurt!

What would this world be without pets? Unconditional love, hilarious moments of unexplainable actions, they are the purest little creatures.

Pancakes, waffles, pastries, omelettes, bacon, fresh fruit, juice...the whole nine yards. How can you NOT love the most important meal of the day?

SUNSETS

I don't think anything can top a Vermont sunset, especially in the Champlain Valley! No picture can do it justice, you have to see it for yourself!
